Sir John Hall, the former owner of Newcastle United and a longtime Conservative donor, has endorsed Nigel Farage’s Reform UK.

Sir John told ITV that the Tories “are not representing my views” and that Reform will “fight for my English rights and customs”.

He also stated that he “doesn’t join parties, but will donate to Reform”.

Sir John, who helped fund Theresa May’s 2017 election, has donated over £500,000 to the Conservative

However, he described himself as a “disillusioned Conservative,” adding: “I just feel in these latter years, they’ve let me down.”

According to polls, the upstart party could win seats in the general election. Mr Farage has asked people to “vote with your heart” if they believe in his agenda. On a visit near Sunderland: “The polls at the moment show that we are second to Labour in (many) seats.”

He continued, “What I’m saying to people here is… vote with your heart.

“If you believe in what I say, if you believe I’m standing for the right things, if you believe that I’m your champion, vote for us and we can win some of these.”

His comments came as a fresh MRP survey showed Reform UK on track to win 18 seats next week.

The Find Out Now and Electoral Calculus survey of over 20,000 respondents, conducted between June 14 and 24, anticipated that Reform will receive 17% of the vote, compared to the Tories’ 15%.

The findings come after Mr Farage and his Reform party were accused of “cuddling up to the Kremlin” and spoiling the electoral discourse.

Earlier this week, military experts lined up to criticize his allegation that the West instigated Russia’s war in Ukraine.

It comes after days of national and international censure for Mr Farage’s statements made during a BBC interview last Friday night.

He told a Panorama special that “we provoked this war” in Ukraine, and that the European Union’s growth, as well as NATO, had given Putin a “excuse” to invade.

The former Ukip leader withdrew from the high-profile interview the week before due to a disagreement inside his party on whether the UK should have appeased Hitler.

It came less than 24 hours after one of his candidates stated that the country would have been “far better” off if it had “taken Hitler up on his offer of neutrality” rather than battling the Nazis.

According to the BBC, Ian Gribbin, who is standing in Bexhill and Battle, also called Winston Churchill “abysmal” and lauded Russian President Vladimir Putin.
