XABI ALONSO’S BAYER LEVERKUSEN ANNOUNCE SIGNING OF BARCELONA STARLET
Bayer Leverkusen, the German champions, announced on Wednesday the signing of a highly rated young prospect
from Barcelona. The Italian, who had just played a key role for the Azzurri when they won the U17 European
Championships, has been on Barcelona’s books since the summer of 2021.Natali decided to make the short trek
across Catalunya from Espanyol.
In recent weeks, however, speculation began to emerge that the stopper has set his sights on a new adventure.
Natali was expected to take his talents to Germany, where he would continue his development on the books of
recently crowned Bundesliga winners Bayer Leverkusen.
As previously said, exactly the same was confirmed on Wednesday, according to a statement posted on Leverkusen’s
website and social media platforms:
Bayer 04 Leverkusen has signed Andrea Natali, an Italian center defender. The 16-year-old youth international is
leaving FC Barcelona’s U18s, where he signed a contract through June 30, 2027.’
