Breaking News: Rangers will pocket £40m from the deal of 24 goals stars as player passes medical

Al-Ettifaq has made Rangers captain James Tavernier a “astronomical” offer to rejoin Steven Gerrard this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

In recent weeks, Gerrard has become more interested in moving Tavernier to Saudi Arabia.

According to Football Insider, on June 17, a “big Saudi bid” is anticipated to arrive at Ibrox for the 32-year-old.

The aforementioned deal is thought to significantly boost Tavernier’s earnings compared to his current Glasgow pay scale,

and the captain of the Green Bay Packers has accepted the contract offer.

Rangers and Al-Ettifaq, who placed sixth in the Saudi Pro League during Gerrard’s rookie campaign,

do not yet have a deal in place, despite the fact that personal conditions have been agreed upon.

However, it seems increasingly likely that one will be completed.

After nine years, Tavernier’s affiliation with the club would come to an end as a result.

The right-back, who played for the Light Blues in 58 games the previous season and scored 24 goals,

has a contract that runs until 2026.

Saudi Arabia is poised to lose Tavernier to the Rangers.

Many Rangers supporters are in favour of the move, believing that it’s time for a fresh start,

as Tavernier appears to be getting closer to the Ibrox exit door.

In an effort to grab the Scottish Premiership championship away from Celtic,

Philippe Clement and the Gers recruitment staff are rebuilding their roster to a high standard.

They have brought in five players, including Mohammed Diomande, whose loan has been extended.

If outgoing loanee Fabio Silva is taken into account, six players have left Ibrox, and Tavernier may be the next to leave.

A swift transition between the two teams is expected to be sparked by an agreement.

With two years remaining on his current contract and the chance of a new contract quickly dwindling,

it could be best for all sides for the captain to go on.

Rangers are hoping to get a good price for an experienced player.
