Villa rejected Spurs’ offer to pay £20 million for Ramsey in addition to midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

This is true even if Villa manager Unai Emery was the midfielder for Spurs at both Villarreal and Paris Saint-Germain.

After joining Spurs in 2020, 28-year-old Lo Celso has participated in 108 games for the team. His present contract expires in June 2025.

Timo Werner has already returned to Tottenham on a season-long loan from RB Leipzig.

Additionally, they paid £8.5 million to acquire Djurgarden midfielder Lucas Bergvall.

With the exception of a brief stint in League One with Doncaster Rovers, Ramsey has played his whole career with the Villans, having joined the team at the age of six.

Despite missing significant time from the team last season owing to many injury issues, he made 21 appearances for the team.

In that span, the 23-year-old assisted two goals and scored one to help Emery’s team secure the fourth spot in the Premier League.

With 122 games played, Ramsey has 13 goals and 12 assists for Villa.

Lewis Dobbin was already acquired by Villa during the summer transfer window; the Everton young player was signed for an unknown figure.

That was a part of a double deal in which the Toffees paid £10 million to sign Aston Villa prodigy Tim Iroegbunam.
