Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal to battle it out for 23-year-old Spanish talent

Joan Garcia, the goalkeeper for Espanyol, is already being pursued by Premier League heavyweights following her stellar Segunda campaign.

He has won a position in the Spanish Olympic team for Paris 2024 this summer because to his saves, which have been crucial to their promotion back to La Liga this year.

This season, Garcia, 23, beat Fernando Pacheco, who was contracted to hold the top position, to take the top spot.

Additionally, he is anticipated to lead Spain’s squad in the Olympics in Paris. Jijantes’ Gerard Romero (via MD) reports that Arsenal is interested in Garcia, while Diario AS confirms that Tottenham Hotspur, a rival team in London, is also eager to recruit Garcia.

Espanyol will need something close to his €25 million release clause should any of them wish to do so, though it’s been reported that Spurs may already be in negotiations with Espanyol for him. Los Pericos recently inked a new contract with him that runs through 2028, so they have no incentive to take a lower price. At one point, it was also believed that Real Madrid was interested in him, but it doesn’t appear like they will make a bid for him.
