Tony Bloom remarks as Brighton completes the signing of £30 million Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester.

The midfielder, who was originally valued at over £30 million and scored 12 goals last season, will require a substantial cost.

In order to strengthen Fabian Hürzeler’s squad for the upcoming campaign, Brighton is prepared to rekindle their pursuit of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, a midfielder for Leicester City, this summer.

Dewsbury-Hall, 25, was approached in January, but there was no agreement over a move; instead, he stayed at King Power Stadium and was instrumental in the Championship victory.

However, interest in him persisted throughout the summer transfer window, and it’s rumored Brighton is willing to make a further push for the player, who was estimated to be worth about £30 million the previous season.

Brighton had Pascal Gross and Billy Gilmour from the previous season, together with young players Carlos Baleba and Facundo Buonanotte, under Roberto De Zerbi. Although Gross has been connected to a move to Germany, Dewsbury-Hall is still likely to fight for a spot in the starting lineup.

After graduating from Leicester’s academy, Dewsbury-Hall made his debut in the first team during the 2021–22 season. He continued to play for Leicester even after they were demoted from the Premier League the following year.

In the meantime, Brighton is adamant on keeping Pascal Gross, a vital midfield player, with the team despite Borussia Dortmund’s intense desire.

According to German reports, Gross and Dortmund are reportedly nearing an agreement, with the Bundesliga team prepared to make Brighton an offer of up to £8 million.
