Lionel Messi makes eye-opening Michael Jordan GOAT claim

Lionel Messi, the hero of Inter Miami, is having yet another fantastic football season. Due to

Messi’s output, his team leads the MLS Eastern Conference rankings. Messi is regarded by many

as one of the all-time great football players. But the Inter Miami player offered a startling GOAT perspective on another legend, the former guard Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls.

For Messi, Jordan is a legendary player in all sports, not just basketball.

“He seems to be the best athlete alive, in my opinion. But now that you’ve seen his series and

learned a little bit more about him, you see that “The Last Dance” is an incredible work of art that

simply blows your mind. That, however, also helped me get to know him better and have a better understanding of his personality. Messi stated, via Hoops Hype, “It’s unfortunate that I couldn’t experience that era in person because I would have loved it.”

Jordan’s “Last Dance” documentary, which chronicled his NBA career with the Bulls, left Lionel

Messi quite impressed. Given what Jordan has accomplished, the Inter Miami star’s perspective

makes sense.

Michael Jordan was a 14-time All-Star, a five-time MVP, an 11-time member of the All-NBA team,

and the winner of six NBA titles with Chicago. Moreover, he was a nine-time member of the All-Defensive team, a 10-time scoring champion, and a three-time steals champion. One of the all-time fiercest competitors was Jordan. He and the Bulls created a legacy that will never be forgotten.

The irony of Lionel Messi’s GOAT assessment of Jordan stems from the fact that many football fans believe the Inter Miami player to be a GOAT as well. Jordan undoubtedly appreciates Messi’s compliments, but the soccer player is not the only one.

Michael Jordan is regarded as the best basketball player of all time by a number of athletes and

players. One such athlete to extend the invitation to Jordan is Dwyane Wade.

In July 2023, Wade declared, “Michael Jordan has always been my GOAT.” “Observe how I played;

I made an effort to imitate Michael Jordan… I also loved other players, such as Kobe Bryant and

Allen Iverson. In my opinion, these are all GOATs. I find it difficult to choose a single person as the greatest of all time. A room filled with GOOATs. There in that room is Michael Jordan.
