Everton close to signing Wilfred Ndidi after he responds to offer – sources

Wilfred Ndidi, a midfielder for Leicester City, is a target for Everton,

sources have told Football Insider.

The player and the club are in the process of finalizing an agreement,

which the Merseysiders expect to finalize by next week to guarantee his inclusion in the squad ahead of the preseason.

Despite Leicester’s recent promotion back into the Premier League,

the 27-year-old has turned down a new contract. His current deal with the Foxes expires on June 30.

Ndidi, who has shown a preference for a move to Merseyside and the opportunity to work with boss Sean Dyche, has accepted terms from Everton.

Everton is putting a lot of effort into assembling a strong team.

Because of his expertise and quality, Ndidi would be a great addition to Everton at Goodison Park.

The Nigerian international has participated in 192 matches in the Premier League of England, netting seven goals and dishing out nine assists.

Prior to the July 4 general election, Everton will also be hoping that a Labour government will foster an atmosphere that would allow for the possibility of more public funding for Bramley Moore Dock.

Having recently visited Old Trafford, the site of a proposed stadium renovation project, as a guest of Man United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Labour leader Sir Kier Starmer already seems open to this kind of initiative.

Nonetheless, Everton is interested in a number of players, including the Leicester midfielder, amid a flurry of transfer activity.

Football Insider has disclosed that the team is thinking about making a last-minute move to recruit Wilfried Gnonto, a forward for Leeds United.
