Everton get their man with target ‘undergoing medical’ for transfer that’ll force Newcastle exit

In a quick start to the transfer window, the Toffees have already added Tim Iroegbunam from

Aston Villa and re-signed Jack Harrison from Leeds United on a loan.

After being linked to Ndiaye initially last summer, Everton has been eager to add an offensive midfielder to rival

Abdoulaye Doucoure, and their perseverance has paid off.

As we revealed on Tuesday, Ndiaye is expected to ink a long-term contract with the Merseyside club,

and Everton and Marseille have reached an agreement on a €20 million deal.

He is most remembered by Sheffield United supporters for his 14 goals and 11 assists in 46 Championship games

during the team’s 2022–2023 promotion run.

But Ndiaye found it difficult to settle in at Marseille, scoring four goals in 46 games for the French team.

The Senegalese international is expected to finalize his transfer to Everton, where he will want to return to his best,

according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano wrote on X, “Iliman Ndiaye, currently on Merseyside undergoing medical tests as new Everton player.”

“Ndiaye signs a five-year contract until June 2029; Marseille will receive €18.5 million plus €1.5 million in add-ons.”

Marseille plans to trade for a Newcastle player.

With Ndiaye’s move to Everton almost finalized, an intriguing story suggests that Newcastle may be affected by the agreement.

The Toffees had discussions about signing Newcastle winger Yankuba Minteh, according to TEAMtalk sources earlier

this week. However, those talks fell through when the Magpies’ attempt to buy Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a striker

failed.

The Shields Gazette quoted a Foot Mercato story that stated that Ndiaye’s departure would have a “knock-on effect

on Minteh’s future.”

This is because Marseille, who supported their new manager Roberto de Zerbi during the transfer window,

had long been supporters of the 19-year-old winger who spent last season on loan at Feyenoord.

Despite being a number 10, Ndiaye did play most of his games as a right flank for the French side last season,

therefore his departure creates a void in the squad.
