£75.3 million attacker who Ange personally wants has agreed to join Tottenham

Spurs are expected to pursue multiple attackers following the Werner deal.

The north Londoners quickly reached an agreement to extend Timo Werner’s loan for another season, with an even cheaper option to buy this time around.

Ange Postecoglou, the manager, personally identified Werner as a target, and the attacker, worth £75.3 million, has now reportedly agreed to join Tottenham this summer.

Werner was originally only supposed to play for Spurs from January to the end of 2023–2024, but chairman Daniel Levy changed the terms of the deal with Leipzig to allow Spurs to retain the German for 2024–2025. As a clever business move, Tottenhan can now opt to sign a permanent contract for just £8.5 million next summer.

When it comes to acquiring offensive players, Postecoglou’s team is reportedly not done yet. According to reports, Tottenham may potentially add another offensive midfielder in addition to their long-term goal of finding a new striker to replace Harry Kane.

Sebastian Szymanski, a winger for the Poland national team, is another possibility for Spurs. The hero of Fenerbahce, who played for his nation at Euro 2024, is coming off a fantastic Turkish Super Liga season.

He scored 13 goals and provided 19 assists for Fenerbahce in all competitions last season, and rumour has it that he may be gone for as low as £25 million.

This week, Aslinda said that Spurs had made a low-ball bid for the midfielder that was estimated to be worth £15 million. Although it seemed to be rejected out of hand, Postecoglou’s team plans to try again with a different proposition. Tottenham is reportedly given the all-clear on a personal level, at least until club-to-club negotiations continue.
