Ange Postecoglou appears eager to rebuild his Tottenham midfield this summer, following an explosive debut campaign.

Ange Postecoglou may soon make room for Conor Gallagher at Tottenham Hotspur. The 24-year-old midfielder’s future at Chelsea is becoming increasingly uncertain, with only 12 months left on his contract.

Gallagher played a significant role in Mauricio Pochettino’s side, helping the Blues finish sixth in the Premier League and qualify for the Conference League. He appeared 37 times, scoring five goals and adding seven assists.

Not only did the Cobham graduate attract Gareth Southgate’s attention, winning a spot in England’s Euro 2024 squad, but he also drew interest from Tottenham. Football.london understands that the Lilywhites have shortlisted Gallagher as a summer target.

However, the Chelsea ace is reported to have’very little intention’ of quitting Stamford Bridge. When asked about his contract situation earlier this month, Gallagher dedicated his future to the West Londoners.

“I’m sure that will get sorted out, everyone knows Chelsea is my club and I love playing for them,” stated the footballer. “The fans are brilliant and I’m loving right now and I’m sure it will get itself sorted out.”

While Gallagher appears to be determined to stay at Chelsea, Tottenham may be forced to test the England international’s determination.

According to German tabloid Bild, Borussia Dortmund is interested in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, whose contract expires next year.

The report states that the Bundesliga giants also want to sign Pascal Gross from Brighton. With Dortmund chasing Hojbjerg, Spurs have essentially been given the green light to go and revamp their midfield.
