Rangers have begun the transfer window at a reasonable speed, as Philippe Clement attempts to restore a squad in severe need of repair.

There was a lot of experience that went at the end of the season, and the management understands that more senior players will need to be signed.

With four summer additions already, Rangers have filled a few gaps, however, one current member of the squad could be at a crossroads as footage on social media shows a positive attitude.

Nicolas Raskin has point to prove at Rangers crossroads

He appeared to have lost all form in the early weeks of the season before returning to his former self when Clement arrived.

Unfortunately, Raskin was hurt very immediately and spent the following few months in the treatment room.

Rangers were in good form when he returned to full fitness, and Mohamed Diomande’s arrival meant that the two starting spots were filled.

A few brief outings off the bench were underwhelming, but he can take comfort in the fact that he was one of Rangers’ best players in the final five games of the season, with John Lundstram sidelined.

The 23-year-old is content with his life at Ibrox, but he understands that regular game time will not be easy.

“Things are going nicely at Rangers. Philippe Clement has brought a new perspective, the European method of working there.

“Football in the United Kingdom differs significantly from that in Europe. So for me, it’s excellent since I discovered the behaviors I had at Standard.

“Next season, I hope to play as much as possible and have a successful European campaign, as we rely heavily on that there. We want to be champions by the end of the year; it would be an excellent season.

Raskin needs to finish where he left off

Raskin has been seen putting in additional effort at his former club, Standard Liege, and sharing on Instagram as he is put through his paces.

Raskin is exactly what Rangers need in midfield when he’s on his game.

He is combative and capable of driving out of defence; he also enjoys making rapid forward passes.

Alongside Diomande, they dominated Celtic’s midfield for the first time in a long while during the Scottish Cup final as Clement saw in HD the formula that he will need to beat them on a more consistent basis,

despite losing out at Hampden. Connor Barron has been an obvious addition to provide competition and depth but Raslin has an 18-month head start.

It would be a surprise if the Gers boss didn’t bring an experienced campaigner in midfield too but Raskin has the chance to prove that he can be trusted to be Clement’s enforcer.
