If The Celtic Keeper Story Is True Then We’re In New Territory This Summer After Al

Has Celtic made a major splash today to begin the summer transfer window?

There are rumors circulating that we’ve had an offer accepted for Dominik Livakovic, the Croatian international goalkeeper who played at the European Championship.

It is reported that the offer is in the region of £7 million. Livakovic is 29 years old.

He possesses both the desired experience and the physical presence that a keeper ought to possess.

However, spending so much money on a player who has little market worth is excessive.

 

To be honest, I’m not sure if these claims are accurate, and I approach rumors with a healthy dose of skepticism—especially when they originate in distant places where it’s difficult to verify their veracity.

We don’t trust the local media, so instead everything is filtered via them.

However, this might be the first clear indication that we’re heading in a different direction.

We’re in a strange new world where Celtic goes out and brings in elite players who can improve the squad and put us up for better things if these stories are even remotely true and if this is to be the first signing of the summer.

That would make such a difference.

We have discussed what it would mean to everyone if the club simply made a “statement signing” every year for the past six years.

Without a question, this would qualify. A player at the top of his game and recently returned from the Euros, he would be leaving a respectable team to join here.

This summer, we need more than simply two of these signings, but when the board lets us stray, opportunities to move more slowly and gradually are lost.

I still say if, and I mean really, really if. However, it wouldn’t just provide answers to certain queries.

It would finally indicate that we are serious about this and are unwilling to continue using a tactic that only keeps us one step ahead of our competitors.
