Rangers player likely to remain at Ibrox after transfer talks end negatively

According to Turkish media, Besiktas has withdrawn from the race to sign Ranger’s defender Rıdvan Yılmaz due to the Ibrox club’s demands. The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from Philippe Clement’s team following reports of interest from his former club. According to Ajan Spor, Besiktas has been in talks with Rangers about signing the Turkish full back, who has been linked with a return to his former club.

However, it’s believed transfer talks between the two clubs ended negatively since Rangers demand €5 million for Yılmaz. Besiktas sold the player to Rangers for €4 million in 2022, and they believe the €5 million demand is too excessive.
As a result, the Super Lig has turned to alternatives, with Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola becoming a target. The Italian’s contract with the Serie A club expires at the end of this month.

Last season, Yılmaz made 33 appearances for Rangers and scored two goals. His contract with the Glasgow club runs until June 2027.
