Lionel Messi suggests that something awful has happened to football and Guardiola is the reason

Lionel Messi of Inter Miami has indicated that Pep Guardiola has caused a negative impact on sport.

Messi spent four years with Barcelona under Guardiola, during a defining period in football.

The Argentine superstar progressed from an elite talent to one of the best players in the world.

Guardiola established himself as a possible modern-day great with his boyhood club.

The pair won three consecutive La Liga crowns, two Champions League trophies, two Copa Del Rey titles, and a total of 14 trophies.

Despite the fact that several famous teams have come and gone since then, the consensus appears to be that the Barcelona team of that era is the best club side in football history, owing largely to the presence of these two greats.

However, while speaking with Clank Media, Messi believes that Guardiola’s influence on the sport has harmed young players’ spontaneity at the younger level.

Messi stated, “The [Pep] Guardiola era has produced some confusion. Everyone wants to play that way now. They instruct six- and seven-year-olds to play with two touches, swiftly. At that age, what occurred to me should happen to these kids, and we shouldn’t limit their spontaneity.

Messi makes a valid point in that young players should be allowed to enjoy their football, but Guardiola is not to blame for having such an impact.

The £378,846-per-week man offers top players specific tactical guidance with the goal of winning trophies.

At the youth level, the focus is on player development.

Aspiring players, particularly those of a young age, should be given the opportunity to play on the pitch.

For this to happen, youth coaches must not follow the Manchester City manager’s approach.

Otherwise, the players they create will grow overly acclimated to one style of play rather than being able to adjust to changing scenarios on the football field.
