Roma’s captain and Italian international, Lorenzo Pellegrini, has turned down a lucrative offer from Al-Nassr to continue his career in Saudi Arabia, choosing to remain with the Roman club.

Saudi clubs caused significant turbulence in the football market last summer with major investments, bringing in star players such as Neymar, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Sergej Milinković-Savić, Riyad Mahrez, and Kalidou Koulibaly. This summer, they are making substantial offers to other football stars, including Milan’s forward Rafael Leao, Roma’s players Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala, as well as Juventus veteran Wojciech Szczesny.
According to Tuttosport, Pellegrini declined Saudi money to stay captain of Roma and continue playing for the club. This means he will not follow the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcelo Brozović, and Aymeric Laporte in Saudi Arabia.
Pellegrini, 28, is proud of his captaincy and believes in the project being conducted by coach Daniele De Rossi.
