The striker for Feyenoord, Santiago Gimenez, is getting close to joining Tottenham Hotspur, according to Chiquis of

TUDN Radio.

The 23-year-old striker made 42 appearances for the Eredivisie team last season, scoring 26 goals and dishing out

eight assists. Teams all over the continent, including Liverpool, have expressed interest in signing the player.

The article goes on to say that Feyenoord has received an offer from both La Liga powerhouse Atletico Madrid and Tottenham.

Feyenoord has asked Atleti to match Tottenham’s offer, but it appears that they are hesitant to raise their offer at this time.

The amount of Spurs’ offer has not been disclosed, but considering the Dutch placed a £42 million asking price, it is probably in the neighborhood of that sum.

Personal terms seem to be the only thing remaining to finish, and they shouldn’t be a problem unless Atleti moves slowly.

Negotiations will need to start during the competition because Gimenez, who has been called “one of the top 10

players in Europe,” is presently traveling with Mexico for the Copa America.

That won’t be much of a problem, though, as he is keen to move to North London, so settling on terms should be

rather simple.
