Ajansspor claims that Besiktas has opted against signing Ridvan Yilmaz this summer because of the Rangers’ high price tag.

The Gers’ asking price of £4.2 million (€5 million) is too much for the Super Lig club,

according to a Turkish source who reported on June 24. The talks between the two parties ended badly.

It’s known that Besiktas is already considering signing several full-backs to take Arthur Masuaku’s place,

with Juan Miranda of Real Betis, Leonardo Spinazzola of AS Roma, and Marcos Acuna of Sevilla all on the list.

Yilmaz, 23, is rumored to not be interested in returning to Turkey, even if Besiktas [Sabah], his former club,

has expressed interest in him leaving Ibrox this summer.

Though Yilmaz only made 15 starts in the Scottish Premiership the previous season, since arriving in October,

Yilmaz appears to have solidified his position as Philippe Clement’s favorite.

Rather than being frequently benched, Yilmaz’s lack of playing time during the 2023–24 season can be attributed to his injury problems;

nonetheless, Yilmaz now has other competition.

There will be fierce competition for full-back spots with the addition of Jefte from Fluminense,

so it will be interesting to watch if the present left-back is prepared to challenge for a spot in the starting lineup.

Yilmaz made 48 appearances for the Scottish team since joining from Besiktas in the summer of 2022,

and it seems he is eager to remain at Ibrox for the upcoming year.

For those players who will be used by the manager next season instead of being traded in the summer transfer window,

Clement’s rebuilding of the team will be an exciting period.

There is no denying the 23-year-old left-back’s talent,

but it is unclear what the management intends to do with him given his recent injury issues.

Rangers will seek to recover their costs if he leaves with three years remaining on his contract after signing

for £3.4 million with add-ons rising to £5 million two summers ago, according to Sky Sports.

However, it appears Besiktas are not willing to pay that much.

In other Rangers news, James Bisgrove was eager to leave Ibrox following the revelation of a brand-new narrative.
