Steve Cooper assembles summer signings as he retains Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

With Steve Cooper taking over as manager, Leicester City can now focus on preparing for the upcoming Premier League season, which suggests that trade activity will soon commence.

As the new manager attempts to assemble his own team in preparation for the upcoming season, we take a close look at all the most recent connections within and outside of the team here.

Adrien Truffert, a left-back for Rennes, is reportedly being targeted by nine teams for a summer transfer, including City.

As the 22-year-old approaches the last two years of his contract, Rennes is getting ready to receive bids for him. L’Equipe lists City as one of the teams interested in signing the player.

Along with European powerhouses Lyon, Monaco, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, and Benfica, City’s Premier League rivals Aston Villa, Fulham, and Bournemouth are also said to be interested.

If Truffert’s name seems familiar, it’s because he has previously been connected to City.

L’Equipe stated two years ago, heading into the summer of 2022, that inquiries regarding Truffert’s price had been made to Rennes.

City had played him twice in the Europa Conference League just months prior.

It makes sense that teams would be drawn to Truffert.

He has a ton of experience and is a fantastic forward from full-back, leading to an astounding 14 assists in the last two seasons despite his advanced age.

His price would reflect those attributes; considering that Villa just had a bid of that size rejected, a cost of more than £17 million is probably needed.

City wouldn’t seem to be all that interested, especially at this price.

They have Ricardo Pereira and James Justin, two full-backs who are more than capable of starting in the Premier League,

and Victor Kristiansen, who is back from a loan at Bologna, as well.

Luke Thomas and Hamza Choudhury are also available, thus City has an abundance of full-backs.

There are considerably more important things to worry about during a summer when money is tight.

Truffert is probably only going to be taken into account in the event that Kristiansen and Justin are both sold.

What is the situation involving Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall?

The January transfer of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall by Brighton was shocking.

With only a few days left in the transfer window,

it suddenly became known that Leicester City and the Seagulls were in negotiations about selling their top player.

The supporters of City were not happy.

They believed that their attempt to get promoted might be derailed by Dewsbury-Hall’s exit. Fortunately,

however, no deal materialized since the two teams’ valuations were too different to make the trade even remotely feasible.

Supporters were prepared for the potential that Dewsbury-Hall would depart in the summer,

though, as the midfielder’s future is still a contentious issue,

thanks to those January negotiations. As of right now, this is the most recent.
