Atletico Madrid are looking to reshape their squad this summer

The defense is a top priority following Diego Simeone’s worst defensive season at Atletico.

Atletico is scheduled to adopt a €70.7 million capital share increase at the General Meeting of Shareholders on

Monday, according to reports from Diario AS. More shares will be issued, if a vote opposing it doesn’t stall the

proceedings.

Los Rojiblancos should be able to invest more in the transfer market thanks to this; nevertheless, the

money will need to be split over two years, and the maximum amount that can be used is 70%. This will depend on

how La Liga evaluates their salary cap position.

Atleti is reportedly in talks to sign Robin Le Normand from Real Sociedad and is rumored to be looking for a second

defender. The future of Alvaro Morata is currently uncertain, and they have also discussed Pichichi Artem Dovbyk

with Girona.
