Juventus book medical for Douglas Luiz
Douglas Luiz, a midfielder for Aston Villa, is supposedly close to completing his transfer to
Juventus, and the team has already set up a medical.
Since joining the Villains in 2019, the 26-year-old has been a dependable member of the team.
This season, the Brazilian found his footing, recording 10 goals and an equal number of assists
across all competitions.
His performances were not overlooked in Turin, where Cristiano Giuntoli, the director of Juventus football, recognised him as a main priority.
The sides are poised to cross the finish line because the Bianconeri have made progress in the negotiations over the last several days.
At first, Weston McKennie was supposed to be included in a swap deal with Juventus, but he was
unable to reach an agreement with Aston Villa.
Rather, Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling-Junior were substituted by the Italians.
The Argentine midfielder and the English winger are worth a combined 22 million euros,
according to JuventusNews24.
Luiz’s value will increase to 47 million euros when Juventus pays 25 million euros in cash.
The midfielder will complete his standard medical examinations on Wednesday before to completing
his move to the Serie A powerhouses, the source adds.
Currently playing for the Brazilian national team in the Copa America, the former Man City player is
on international duty.
Consequently, his medical will now take place in the United States, where the continental competition
is being held, rather than in Turin.
