DONE DEAL: Tottenham now completes the signing of £40m Manchester City player

It has just emerged, that Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a move for a £40m-rated Manchester City player this summer transfer window, according to a recent report.

Last season, Ange Postecoglou’s team had a successful first season together, placing fifth in the Premier League.

There were many indications of improvement, and the playing style now much more closely reflects the goals of supporters and club executives.

The former Celtics manager, though, won’t be content until his team makes a Champions League comeback and takes home a trophy.

A £40 million Manchester City player is being seriously considered in their attempt to achieve that.

Tottenham interested in Yan Couto

The Sun (page 56) reports that Tottenham Hotspur is interested in acquiring Yan Couto, the right-back for Manchester City.

The North Londoners see Couto as the perfect addition and are aiming to give Pedro Porro some competition.
Spurs have their sights set on the Brazilian, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Girona, a sister club of City, as Emerson Royal may be heading out.

The 22-year-old finished third in La Liga last season with two goals and ten assists, earning the team’s spot in the Champions League.

The cost of Yan Couto

With four caps for Brazil, Couto is valued at £40 million by the Premier League winners.

Despite never having played for The Citizens, he still has two years left on his contract and cannot quit on a whim.

According to the article, Couto might yet opt to leave on loan rather than sign a long-term contract.

The financial year concludes at the end of June, and the city is not under any pressure to sell before then.
