Callum Wilson has joined West Ham.

The Chronicle reports that West Ham has made contact with Newcastle to discuss Callum Wilson’s potential signing.

Luis Guilherme, a Brazilian forward, was already acquired by the Hammers during the summer transfer window, but

Julen Lopetegui wants to improve the forward position.

The next few days could be critical as the report from June 22 claims that West Ham has launched an approach to

sign the 32-year-old striker in a cash deal.

Newcastle may have to make a “big decision” about the future of their number nine.The forward Dominic Calvert-

Lewin of Everton is allegedly in talks to join the Magpies. Wilson will most likely be

permitted to depart if they are able to reach a compromise for him.

Is it wise for West Ham to pursue Callum Wilson?

Although the England international would prefer to stay at St. James’ Park this summer, a transfer to West Ham

would also be a good choice. He intends to continue playing in the Premier League, and should he have a great

season with the Hammers, he may be included to the England roster.

There is an urgent need for West Ham to increase their potency in the forward areas. As his career draws to a

conclusion, Michail Antonio may join the Major League Soccer (MLS) this summer. The Hammers will let rid of

Danny Ings if they receive a competitive offer since he has turned out to be a huge failure.

Wilson is a striker with a ton of experience. He has a track record of regularly scoring goals—140 goals in his career.

He is two goals short of a half-century for the Toon after scoring 67 goals for AFC Bournemouth.

There is just one year left on the striker’s current contract, and Newcastle values him at approximately £18 million. It

seems highly doubtful that the Hammers would be paying that much money given his age and contract status, but

they could try to work out a compromise.
