Atletico Madrid to receive €70m cash injection ahead of summer rebuild.

This summer, Atletico Madrid want to reorganize their team in an effort to become younger and pull away from teams like Athletic Club and Girona.

One of the top priorities is defense, following Diego Simeone’s worst defensive season at Atletico.

Atletico is scheduled to adopt a €70.7 million capital share increase at the General Meeting of Shareholders on Monday, according to reports from Diario AS.

More shares will be issued, if a vote opposing it doesn’t stall the proceedings.

Los Rojiblancos should be able to invest more in the transfer market thanks to this; nevertheless,

the money will need to be split over two years, and the maximum amount that can be used is 70%.

This will depend on how La Liga evaluates their salary cap position.

Atleti is reportedly in talks to sign Robin Le Normand from Real Sociedad and is rumored to be looking for a second defender.

The future of Alvaro Morata is currently uncertain,

and they have also discussed Pichichi Artem Dovbyk with Girona.
