According to Fabrizio Romano of X (June 23), Chelsea is set to reach an agreement to bring Kellyman over from Villa today.

Before scheduling a medical, the two clubs have already agreed to a £19 million cost, with personal arrangements almost complete.

Speaking only to Villa News, King also expressed his shock at the amount of money involved in the transfer.
“This seems like an awful lot of money for an 18-year-old,” King said.

“I would have thought the initial deal would be maybe £10million with add-ons included. I can’t see how a player as inexperienced as him is worth £19million.

“This deal has certainly surprised me. I mean where do they get a figure like £19milllion from.”
