Southampton Is Considering Purchasing Fulham’s Midfield Player

According to the most recent sources, Saints are interested in signing a midfield player from Fulham. While some

may be disappointed to see another former player back to St Mary’s, they can relax because Harrison Reed isn’t the

main focus.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid is the man in question, according to southamptonfcnews. He is now a free agent since he

hasn’t signed a new contract with Fulham.

He made 33 appearances for the Cottagers in the Premier League last season, although only 17 of those were as a

starting lineup. The remaining 16 came on as a replacement, mostly playing out wide on either flank, where he

finished with 6 goals and 2 assists.

He played 159 League games in total over his five seasons at Craven Cottage, 101 of which were in the Premier

League. He also added another 27 games during a season spent in the top division with Cardiff.

He might be a useful acquisition for Saints as they assemble their roster for the upcoming campaign, especially

considering that he has played in almost 200 Championship games for Bristol City, Fulham, and Cardiff.

Despite turning 31 in February, he is still capable of playing in the Premier League and would be a good match for St.

Mary’s, where he would bring a combination of potential with players like Sam Edozie and experience with De Cordoba-REid and Ryan Fraser.

Some Saints fans are not overly thrilled with the players that the team has linked to them thus far, but it’s important

to keep in mind that assembling a team requires striking a balance between bringing in players who are inexpensive

but have experience, young players, and elite players.

The financial fair play regulations must be followed at all times, and if we are demoted, we don’t want to make the

same mistakes again and end up stuck with players for whom we paid hefty transfer fees, who now owe us money

and for whom we have no other option than to send them out on loan.
