Chelsea have signed Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid for €40.5 million on a six-year contract.

Samu Omorodion, a striker for Atletico Madrid, had Chelsea’s offer for him rejected for €32.5 million (£27.4 million) with add-ons.

The 20-year-old, who played on loan at Deportivo Alaves the previous season, came to Atletico from Granada in the summer of 2023. The London club is targeting him along with a few other strikers.

Samu, who was born in Nigeria, has the choice to play for his native Spain, but he has chosen to represent his country by being called up to the under-19 and under-21 Spanish national teams.
