According to football.london, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are negotiating over a potential trade for striker Samu Omorodion. To strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad, the Blues have pushed for a new

center-forward to join them during the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa and Jhon Duran had held discussions after Duran was mentioned as a potential target. Football.london is aware that the Colombian’s salary demands were excessive, though, and other

options are currently being explored.

The Blues’ management has suggested a £34 million transfer, but the La Liga team is keen to extend

the 20-year-old’s deal following his standout loan move with Alaves.

Maresca is eager to bolster his attacking group before to the 2024–2025 season commencing. As of

right now, Nicolas Jackson is the only exceptional forward on the team, and there is a chance to

relieve him of some of the strain.

Omorodion is the latest striker to be connected to a summer transfer to west London. Benjamin

Sesko, Dusan Vlahovic, Ivan Toney, Victor Gyokeres, and Victor Osimhen have all been on the list,

but nothing has happened to them.

Tosin Adarabioyo of Fulham has become the first player Chelsea has signed this summer window on

a free transfer. Between now and the start of the season, more business is anticipated, with the acquisition of a new center-forward appearing to be the top priority.

Who is Samu Omorodion?

The striker’s parents are Nigerian, and he was born in Melilla in May 2004. He moved to Seville while

he was young, and in 2021 he became a member of Granada’s youth team. Shortly after, in a 2-1 home loss to Marchamalo, he made his senior debut for the club’s reserve squad.

He played 33 games and scored 18 goals in his first full season of senior football (22–23), all while representing the Spain Under-19s. His goals, which included one against Real Aviles in the 2-0

play-off final, enabled Granada’s B team to go to the third division.

Omorodion made his La Liga and first team debut for Grenada in a 3-1 loss to Atletico Madrid in

August 2023. He signed a five-year contract with Diego Simeone’s team a week later.

Omorodion was loaned to La Liga team Alaves right away, where he remained until the completion

of the year. He scored nine goals while missing just two league games.
