Troy Parrott transfer ‘would tick a lot of boxes’ for Stoke City

It is no secret that Stoke City will be looking to add a striker or two during the summer transfer window, but it is still up for question as to which striker, or what kind of striker, Jon Walters and Steven Schumacher should prioritize.

Supporters of Stoke JON OWEN from Seabridge, LIAM HALL from Dresden, and RICHARD JAMES from Blythe Bridge are offering their views from the terraces. Do you agree or disagree? Jon Owen: Although Kieffer Moore probably won’t be available this summer, someone of his caliber to truly lead the line would be ideal. I’ve thought we’d be in for him for a number of years.

In my opinion, the most impressive version of ourselves since the Championship was when Steven Fletcher was our main man up front. Tyrese Campbell and Nick Powell performed better because of his physical presence, and I believe we can do the same with Junho and Manhoef playing off a target man type.

Liam Hall The number of goals a striker has scored in the past doesn’t really interest me; obviously, a strong record helps, but those players usually come at a price or require a signed player, and we’ve gone down that path too many times to be successful.

What I really want us to do is find a striker who will fit the system Schuey wishes to play, and I’m certain we can accomplish that in this new, data-driven era. Consider Carlton Morris and Adebayo of Luton. Despite having poor goal totals at primarily lower levels prior to joining the team, they have both scored a lot of goals afterward because they were brought in to match a certain system. We have personally witnessed it happen before: Stein, Sheron, and Thorne were all taken out of relative obscurity.

Names like Cannon, Stansfield, and even Delap will undoubtedly come up frequently on the Oatcake and Twitter, and if they are available and reachable, one of them might be the solution. I simply hope that we’re searching far and wide for a man who perfectly fits the system, someone who can score goals while also adding value to players like Bae and Million, who, I’m sure, will be aiming for more than ten goals per this season.

Richard James The problems we faced at the beginning of the previous season had long seemed intractable. We have and have not spent money. Both potential and experience have been signed by us. With one strange exception, they have all largely failed to place the round, white object between the two wooden poles.

That’s not to suggest it’s simple, and I’m not the only one with questions, but ideally we should go out and sign a striker who has been a goal scorer rather than someone who has shown glimmers of that three or four years ago. In light of this, Troy Parrott is the player I’d love to see us target. Touted as the next Harry Kane a few years ago, he just finished with 17 goals for a team that was demoted in the Dutch first flight.
