Sky Sport: What Theo Hernandez expects from Milan in order to renew contract

Concerns have been raised about Theo Hernandez’s renewal as a result of his remarks made while he was abroad with the French national team.

Theo held a news conference this morning ahead of France’s opening match against Austria,

as reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews).

When asked about his future at the club level,

Theo responded in a way that may not exactly soothe Milan supporters.

“I have the European Championship front and center.

We’ll find out later if I decide to remain in Milan,” he remarked. The Frenchman’s representatives have been in talks with the Rossoneri on the renewal for some time, but as of right now, no deal has been achieved.

The report states that Theo’s contract expires in 2026 and that he presently makes €5 million net per season, including bonuses.

To secure his long-term future with the team and prolong that contract,

the left-back anticipates receiving a pay raise.

Furthermore, according to Tuttosport,

the former Real Madrid player wants a compensation increase that would match Rafael Leao’s earnings, or roughly €7-8 million net year with bonuses added.

It remains to be seen if the Milan management gives in to such demands,

but as international interest keeps growing, it appears that a turning point may occur this summer.
