Samu Omorodion has become the first Nigerian player to play for both Atletico Madrid and Chelsea after a £40 million bid was accepted.

After Atletico Madrid rejected their approach for Samu Omorodion,

Chelsea is still reviewing their summer shortlist of striker targets.

The Spain Under-21 player, who hasn’t played in a professional match for Atleti,

was on loan at Alaves for the previous campaign and is a good fit for Chelsea.

Omorodion, at 6 feet 3 inches tall, has a commanding appearance.

In his first season back in the top division, he scored eight goals in La Liga last season, helping Babazorros finish in the top half.

Atletico is adamant on hanging onto one of its most valued young players,

and it is reported that they turned down a bid from the Blues for over £30 million.

Jhon Duran, the Colombian striker for Aston Villa, is still a target for Chelsea,

who are reportedly in talks with the Birmingham team about a potential trade.

Although Duran is eager to join Chelsea, the Blues may wish to reduce the final cost for the 20-year-old.
