Official : Che Adams takes a bold step to earn more than £30k-a-week at Saudi

When Che Adams’ current contract expires at the end of this month, it was widely believed

that he would depart Southampton; but, an update from the club suggests he may not.
Following their promotion to the Premier League, Southampton revealed its retained list,

and it was revealed that Stuart Armstrong would be leaving the team when his contract expired this summer. However, the club is still in talks with Alex McCarthy and fellow out-of-contract players Adams.

Adams has had an offer on the table for the most of the previous season, so the Saints’ return to the

Premier League has undoubtedly played a role. However,

discussions have also taken place between the player and both Wolves  and Nottingham Forest.

However, the offer from Al-Shabab will make all other offers pale into insignificance in financial terms.

Give Me Sport claims that Adams has been offered a three-year contract by the Saudi club,

which would pay him £7 million year.

To put things in perspective, the striker currently makes somewhat less than £1.6 million annually.

It’s unclear at this point in his career whether Adams would be interested in moving from the Premier League to the Saudi Pro League, but the chance to more than quadruple his salary might be too good to pass up.
