Atletico Madrid want €80 million for Chelsea target

It has been claimed that Chelsea is interested in signing Samu Omorodion of Atletico Madrid.

The 20-year-old made an impression when on loan at Deportivo Alaves the previous season, making 34 league games and tallying 8 goals.

Though he has rejoined the La Liga team, there are questions about the young player’s future in Madrid.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Omorodion is now Chelsea’s top target for the summer striker position.

Italian teams Roma and Napoli have reportedly expressed interest in the youngster as well.

The Spanish player was first offered €40 million by the Blues, but the Indian team rejected the bid.

Omorodion, who is under contract with Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano Stadium until 2028, is reputedly worth over €80 million.

In 35 Premier League games last season, Nicolas Jackson scored 14 goals and provided five assists for the West Londoners.

Nevertheless, it appears that he needs assistance from another center-forward to split the load because he is not yet ready to start every game.

Omorodion appears to have a promising future ahead of him due to his abundance of ability.

However, given that the 20-year-old is still rather inexperienced and has only scored 27 goals in his career, Chelsea is unlikely to invest €80 million for him.

Benjamin Sesko, 21, was heavily linked to the Blues but ultimately chose to remain at RB Leipzig.

They also decided against signing Victor Osimhen of Napoli because of the financial implications.
