AC Milan has signed Tijjani Reijnders to a four-year contract, hoping for a stronger future.

This summer, AC Milan wants to strengthen their midfield, particularly in the defensive phase.

A number of candidates have recently been touted. Among them is Mats Wieffer,

who seems to be at the top of the desire list.

Milan gave up far too many goals in the 2023–24 season,

and their deficiency in defensive midfielders was one of the main causes.

It seems sense that Ismael Bennacer wasn’t in the same condition when he returned after missing half the season due to injury.

As a result, the Rossoneri are anticipated to sign a defensive midfield player this summer,

and Mats Wieffer is currently the top option, according to Mediaset (via MiIanNews).

The midfielder for Feyenoord has a contract that expires in 2027,

and the club directors are aware that he is keen to go.

Milan has made contact with the Dutch team, and the Rossoneri are attempting to negotiate a starting price tag of €25 million.

It might be a similar operation to the one that cost the club over €20 million plus bonuses in order to get Tijjani Reijnders.

After missing the last games of the season due to an injury, Wieffer is presently rehabilitating and should return to action shortly.

However, Reijnders, who is playing a pivotal role in midfield, is in the Euro team and he is not.
