Joe Hart, the goalie for Celtic, will retire at the end of the current campaign.

When his three-year deal finishes in the summer, the former Manchester City and England star will be 37 years old.

Hart won 75 caps for England since making his Shrewsbury first team debut in April 2004.

When Celtic won the Scottish Cup the previous season, he was the third player in England and Scotland to win winners’ medals in

the three major trophies—after Andrei Kanchelskis and Sir Kenny Dalglish.

“Joe has enjoyed a phenomenal career and I know will be huge miss to the game when he

finally retires from playing football in the summer,” Celtics manager Brendan Rodgers stated on the team’s official website.

Joe deserves a tonne of credit and congrats for everything he has accomplished in football.

Aside from Celtic, he has been an incredible addition to the game at the highest levels both nationally and internationally.

More than that, though, he is an amazing man who is a pleasure to work with. I know that during his career,

he has been a terrific teammate to many, and he is a player who always gives it his all.

His daily work ethic serves as an inspiration to everyone in football.

“I completely comprehend and honour Joe’s motivations for releasing this statement and for being transparent with

the team and our supporters regarding his future plans.

“I am confident that he will keep working throughout this season.”
