Douglas Luiz’s signing was presented by Juventus this morning as a deal completed.

Why Douglas Luiz would want to leave Aston Villa has been questioned by Don Goodman.

It appears that the Brazilian midfielder will leave Villa Park this summer to join Juventus.

According to reports, he and the Serie A club came to an agreement on a four-year contract for €5 million a season.

Villa is reportedly set to get up to €20 million in addition to players Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior as part of the deal.

However, Goodman is taken aback by Luiz’s willingness to depart from the team,

which has undergone a transformation under Unai Emery’s leadership and will compete in the Champions League the next season after placing fourth in the Premier League the previous year.

Goodman told Villa News,

“Douglas Luiz has been one of the best players at Villa since he arrived through the door.”

“Why would he want to go away,

in his opinion?
