BAYER LEVERKUSEN LEAD THREE-WAY BATTLE FOR WALDEMAR ANTON
Waldemar Anton (27) is generating interest,
with Bayer Leverkusen leading the way, after assisting Stuttgart in qualifying for Champions League football for the first time since the 2009–10 campaign,
according to Sky Germany.
Xabi Alonso reportedly contacted the Stuttgart captain at least twice in an attempt to lure Anton to Leverkusen.

As was mentioned last week, Anton is said to have a release clause of about €22.5 million.

Sky Germany continues, “Bayer Leverkusen is willing to offer Anton a ‘well-paid contract’ until 2028, despite the lack of an agreement.”
Considering that Jonathan Tah has achieved a verbal agreement to join Bayern Munich,
it is evident that Alonso and his hiring team are looking for a center defender.
Nevertheless, Bayer wants to sign Anton and is in the lead in the three-way competition,
independent of Tah’s future—the defender is about to enter the last year of his contract.
