Carlos Alcaraz, ranked second in the world, expressed his excitement about studying under 22-time Grand Slam victor Rafael Nadal when they team up in the doubles at the Olympics in Paris.

Alcaraz, 21, a three-time Grand Slam winner, will play in the singles and doubles at Roland Garros during the Games after winning the French Open there earlier this month.

Nadal took home gold in the 2008 Olympics in singles and doubles in 2016. This will be the 38-year-old’s third appearance at the Games.

“I didn’t expect to play doubles at the Olympic Games with Rafa,”

On Monday, Alcaraz informed reporters. It’s a special occasion for me, and I’m obviously thrilled about it. It should be a terrific time, but we’ll have to wait and see how it turns out.

In all honesty, I think he will teach me how to handle everything. I’m the young man who has to mature both personally and as a gamer.

“It will undoubtedly be my first Olympic Games. I’m hoping to learn a lot from him because everything is new to me.”
