Ange Postecoglou has reportedly identified his ‘priority’ striker target as he bids to replace former Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane this summer.

Tottenham strengthened with the arrivals of Timo Werner and Manor Solomon last summer,

but they also went with Brennan Johnson, who is a more adaptable option.

Heung-min Son had a strong season in the center of the field, finishing with 17 goals in the Premier League.

However, it is undeniable that Spurs are devoid of a true striker.

Ange Postecoglou has a wide range of options to choose from, as the Spurs have already been linked to moves for

players like Ivan Toney and Santiago Gimenez.

Furthermore, Postecoglou has made up his mind that Spurs should sign the latter, per Football Transfers.

Ivan Toney and Tottenham reach a personal terms agreement.

According to the source, Brentford rejected Spurs’ offer of £40 million for Toney, with the Bees demanding a

payment of £65 million.

It is mentioned that Tottenham would probably be able to get a deal done with a price of £55 million.

Toney has reportedly spoken with Postecoglou‘s team about personal terms, and the Australian has named the

England player as his “priority target” to take Kane’s spot.

According to Football Transfers, negotiations over a transfer for the 28-year-old are anticipated to go on for a few

more weeks.

In 17 Premier League games last season, the striker registered just four goals after serving a nine-month football suspension.

But because of his ability to hold up the ball and encourage teammates to play,

his all-around game would fit very well with Tottenham’s style of play.

Given that Toney only has one year left on his deal, you would think the Spurs would try to get him for less money.

It remains to be seen if Brentford lowers their demands.

It’s significant to note that Michael Bridge, a journalist for Sky Sports, has called the proposal and rumors that Toney

has accepted a transfer to Tottenham “not remotely true.”
