One of the main topics of discussion during this summer’s transfer window is Adam Idah’s future.

The Irishman’s poor goal scoring record at Norwich City had most Celtic supporters understandably unhappy when they recruited him on loan in the winter. However, the striker disproved his detractors and rose to prominence for Brendan Rodgers’ team.

Idah, who primarily served as an impact replacement, scored nine goals for Celtic in the second half

of the season. Furthermore, he excelled in crucial moments as well, winning the Scottish Cup final and scoring against the Rangers at Ibrox.

Idah’s loan arrangement does not include a buyback option for Celtic. Looking back, that turned out

to be a really bad decision.

Idah was reportedly expected to be available for a transfer cost of about £3 million in the summer

when he was first signed on loan in the winter. But it appears that Norwich City are now seeking for

a much bigger amount than that after his excellent stint at Parkhead.

Idah is eager to rejoin Celtic, as HITC reported, but a deal is not easy to come by. The striker is

expected to fetch a transfer fee of approximately £8 million, and Norwich City’s new head coach is

eager to see him in preseason.

Celtic is thought to be hoping to complete a move for a transfer price of about £5 million. However,

it might not be sufficient.

Celtic’s primary priority this summer has to be signing Idah. However, it also seems a bit excessive for

a man who wasn’t even the team’s starting striker to pay £8 million for a transfer. One would think

that better solutions would be available for a figure like that.
