Jose Mourinho to takeover as Tottenham manager -personal terms agreed

Tottenham to launch surprise offer for Jose Mourinho favourite

The 26-year-old has been put up for sale by Roma, as TEAMtalk first revealed at the beginning of June.

The English quintet is currently searching for a new front man.

Abraham joined the Italian powerhouses in the summer of 2021 after being signed by Jose Mourinho.

He has since made 119 appearances and scored 37 goals for the team.

Despite having a severe knee injury this season, his admirers in England have not given up on him.

Before his injury at the end of 2022–2023 season, Abraham was strongly connected to Everton,

which put an end to any plans to move to Goodison Park.

According to Italian reports, the Toffees have rekindled their interest in the attacker because of the uncertainty

surrounding Dominic Calvert Lewin, their number nine.

However, Everton might find it difficult to prevail in the race to sign Abraham considering their FFP standing and

the opposition from West Ham, Tottenham, and Aston Villa.

The Premier League’s interest in Abraham has ‘pleased’ Roma, according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sera,

since they intend to transfer him in the upcoming weeks.

By selling the forward, the team will free up salary space for new players and save €6 million gross [€4.5 million net] annually.

Abraham and Mourinho had a great working relationship at Roma, but since the manager left in January,

Abraham has become less important at the Stadio Olimpico.

Nevertheless, given their FFP situation and the competition from West Ham, Tottenham,

and Aston Villa, Everton may have trouble winning the battle to sign Abraham.

Abraham’s transfer to Roma is planned over the next weeks, thus the Premier League’s interest in him has ‘pleased’

Roma, according to Italian magazine Corriere dello Sera.

By offloading the forward, the organization will save €6 million gross [€4.5 million net] a year and make room on the

payroll for new players.

Although Abraham and Mourinho got along well at Roma, Abraham’s role at the Stadio Olimpico has decreased

since the manager left in January.
