Transfer target breaks silence on Aston Villa interest as he makes agent admission

Five teams are reportedly interested in Sunderland’s highly-regarded full-back Trai Hume, including Aston Villa.

A number of higher-division teams have expressed interest in the Northern Ireland international.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, Bournemouth, newly promoted Leicester City,

Championship Leeds United, Napoli, and Villa are among the Premier League teams reportedly eyeing him.

The right-back, who made 46 appearances for the Black Cats the previous season and

topped the statistics tables for most tackles made in the Championship, was initially linked to Villa Park in March.

Furthermore, Hume has mentioned leaving the Stadium of Light in the past.

since he still has three years left on his contract and was easily one of our greatest players last season.

Hume was acquired by Sunderland for about £200,000 back in 2022,

and the defender may see a boost in value this summer.

His current deal with the Black Cats runs through 2027, but the team has the option to extend it by one more year.
