Transfer: Southampton hijacks Man United deal as Newcastle unleashes Isak on Liverpool

Southampton has hijacked Manchester United’s bid for PSV striker Cody Gakpo and is hopeful of completing the transfer before Thursday.

According to TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook, the Saints are working hard to finalise the deal for the PSV winger.

Manchester United expressed considerable interest in signing the player this summer.

Meanwhile, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is expected to unleash the club’s record signing,

Alexander Isak, on Liverpool in tonight’s Premier League match.

New £58 million signing. Isak was unable to make his debut in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Molineux due to a pending work permit.

According to the Times, the Home Office has officially awarded a visa to the Swedish striker,

allowing him to play at Anfield tonight.

“After conversing with Tony [Bloom], Paul [Barber], and David [Weir],

it became evident that they are quite ambitious.

The club has a distinct history and a daring vision for the future,

therefore I am thrilled to be a part of the project.

“The team has made remarkable development in recent seasons,

and the goal is to continue building on that success.

I am excited about the opportunity to coach in the Premier League,

and I can’t wait to meet the players, staff, and, of course, fans.”
