Berry played 17 games in the Premier League last season, scoring two goals.
This resulted in him becoming the first player to score in all four of England’s main leagues while playing for the same team.
The 5’10 midfielder progressed through the ranks at Cambridge United,
making his first-team debut as a substitute during the 2009/10 season. Over the next two years,
the Englishman cemented his place as a crucial player for the U’s, scoring 12 league goals in 42 appearances in the 2013/14 season
to help them achieve promotion from the fifth division via the playoffs.
This spurred Barnsley, who had recently been demoted to League One,
to sign Berry for an undisclosed fee. However, the playmaker’s time in South Yorkshire did not last long.
After 37 appearances, two goals in all competitions, and one season gone, Cambridge re-signed their academy graduate.
He thrived in his second term at Cambridge, netting 12 league goals in 2015/16 and 17 goals the following season.
Furthermore, he missed only one league game during those two seasons.
Luton Town then recruited the midfielder, who helped them win the League Two title in 2017/18.
Luton’s number eight scored six goals in the 2021/22 Championship season, however injuries limited him to just 13 league outings.
The club, which finished 18th in the Premier League last season,
declared that they would not exercise the option to extend his contract in order for him to play regularly elsewhere.
