Official talks have been held between PSG and Mbappe’s replacement.

Midfielder Bernardo Silva of Manchester City is still a target for Paris Saint-Germain,

who may try to entice him away from the Premier League winners this summer.

The 29-year-old played a key role in City’s victory as they won the Premier League for a record fourth year in a row.

This is Silva’s sixth league championship in seven seasons with the team.

The accomplished offensive midfielder,

who thrives in a team with players like Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne,

is recognized as one of the top players in international football.

However, he has been linked to a move away from the Etihad Stadium for the better part of three years.

While PSG has always recognized Silva’s abilities,

Barcelona has long been a fan of the Portuguese player but has never been in a position to make an offer.

Silva was valued by Manchester City at about £80 million in past windows,

and they had no intention of selling.

Although Silva signed a contract extension in August of last year that would have kept him until June 2026 and included a £50 million release clause that would go into effect the following year,

PSG is still interested in him as they get ready to replace Kylian Mbappe.

90min is aware that PSG will have a large amount of money to spend this summer on team revamping as they pursue their first-ever Champions League victory.

Mbappe’s departure will free up €225 million,

which the club can use to reallocate forgone loyalty bonuses,

wages, taxes, and social security.

Luis Enrique’s team prioritizes having a striker,

a center-back, a wide player,

and a central midfielder—roles Silva would more than properly fill.

It is unclear if Silva could be convinced to leave City,

but Pep Guardiola is quite fond of Silva and would prefer that he stay with the team.

It would probably require an offer of at least €75 million (£63.8 million) for the eight-time Premier League winners to consider a possible sale.

PSG has at the very least ruled out pursuing Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle United,

and they will undoubtedly fail in their ambitious pursuit of Gavi,

another player in whom they have a strong interest but who Barcelona views as off-limits because the 19-year-old could become their club captain in the future.
