JUST IN: Atletico Madrid Turns Down Lucrative Offer for Star Striker

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reports that Atletico Madrid has turned down West Ham’s offer for Nigerian striker Samuel Omorodion, who was born in Spain.

According to the source, Atletico Madrid turned down a bid from the Hammers two weeks ago for the gifted striker worth more than €35 million.

With Danny Ings’ disappointing campaign last year and Michail Antonio’s contract expiring at the end of this month, West Ham needs to improve their striking lineup.

Omorodion’s respectable loan stint with Deportivo Alavés last season, during which he scored eight goals and provided one assist in all competitions, appears to have pleased the London-based team.

Although Alavés suffered as a result of his poor form towards the conclusion of the season—he failed to score or assist in his final 12 La Liga games—clubs continued to show interest in signing him.

In addition to West Ham, Romano said that the young Spanish player has suitors in Serie A, including Roma, who seem prepared to let go of Tammy Abraham, the former striker for Chelsea.

However, as of right now, only the Premier League team has submitted an official proposal for the 20-year-old.

Two weeks ago, West Ham made an offer for Samu Omorodion that was greater than €35 million, but Atletico Madrid turned it down.

Although AS Roma and other Serie A teams are aware of Atletico’s interest, no formal approach or proposal has yet been made.
