Steve Bruce and a number of other well-known names are being considered for a prominent Championship role.
Steve Bruce, a former manager of Sunderland and Newcastle United, has been connected to an unexpected comeback to Championship management.

Former Tottenham player Craig Bellamy is now temporarily in charge of the dugout at Turf Moor following Bayern Munich’s signing of Burnley manager Vincent Kompany. Bruce, though an unusual candidate given the links to several other players, has emerged as a possibility to take over the Clarets permanently.

It’s unknown where the Corbridge-born manager stands in the queue, but rumors have him up against Frank Lampard, Thierry Henry, and Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has already had meetings with club chairman Alan Pace and Liam

Rosenior and Scott Parker, with further internal backing for Bellamy in her pursuit of a long-term role as first team manager.
Bruce left Newcastle in November 2021, having managed the team for 1,000 games. Since being fired by West Bromwich Albion in October 2022, after only eight months in charge, due to a poor start to the 2022–2023 season, he has been unemployed.

Burnley’s list of candidates includes several up-and-coming coaches, so switching from Kompany to Bruce seems odd. However, the former Tottenham manager is reportedly viewed as a safe pick because of his track record of leading teams out of the Championship and into the Premier League.
