Done deal: Everton Defender signs four-year contract with AC Milan.

AC Milan is reportedly keeping an eye on Everton defender Ben Godfrey, according to a recent story from The Sun.

It is believed that the English talent from the Toffees is what the Milan titans are aiming to sign this summer.

Godfrey had a difficult season at Goodison Park because he was never able to secure a spot in the starting lineup,

but he still put up a number of standout performances for the Toffees in the defensive third of the field.

The 26-year-old played in 16 games across all competitions for the Merseyside club in the previous campaign.

The York native’s average of 2.0 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, and 3.4 clearances per Premier League game demonstrated his dominance when defending inside his half.

According to statistics provided by whoscored, he has even demonstrated accuracy when passing the ball out of the back, having completed 70.8% of his passes in the English Premier League.

The summer of 2025 will mark the expiration of his current deal with the Merseyside club.

So, it would be prudent for Everton to take advantage of Godfrey during this transfer window in order to avoid losing him as a free agent in the next year.

Furthermore, the star defensive player for Everton is about ready to begin his final year of eligibility.

As a result, it makes sense for the Toffees to take advantage of him and utilize the proceeds from his possible sale to acquire a worthy successor this summer.

As long as they can find someone worthy to take Godfrey’s place at Goodison Park, the Merseyside club can afford to lose him.
