Brighton has named Fabian Hurzeler as its new head coach.

Hurzeler, 31, has signed to a three-year contract with the south coast club, becoming the Premier League’s youngest permanent manager after succeeding Roberto De Zerbi.

According to Sky Sports News, Hurzeler emerged as the main candidate for the role following their data-driven investigation,

and Brighton approached St Pauli last Saturday to begin discussions on a pay figure.

He led St Pauli to promotion to the Bundesliga after winning the Bundesliga 2 title last season.

Hurzeler stated, “I am tremendously happy to be the next head coach of Brighton & Hove Albion.

“After conversing with Tony [Bloom], Paul [Barber], and David [Weir],

it became evident that they are quite ambitious.

The club has a distinct history and a daring vision for the future, therefore I am thrilled to be a part of the project.

“The team has made remarkable development in recent seasons,

and the goal is to continue building on that success.

I am excited about the opportunity to coach in the Premier League,

and I can’t wait to meet the players, staff, and, of course, fans.”
