Sunderland among Championship teams eyeing 29-goal striker

In the English Football League, Sunderland has been listed with a productive attacker.

The official summer transfer window is now open. However, Sunderland’s summer transfer window will

undoubtedly be impacted by the club’s ongoing search for a new manager.

Sunderland has been without a manager for almost four months, and connected names keep dropping out of the

running.

Liam Rosenior is the most recent to join Will Still and other others in seeking alternative chances,

if not securing a new job entirely.

In the midst of the continuous management disaster, Sunderland supporters are taking their frustrations out on

Kristjaan Speakman, the club’s sporting director, who has previously received accolades, and has been in place for

three and a half years.

Speakman has been in the news lately, though, due to the managerial drama and the club’s inability to sign a striker

throughout the last few transfer windows.

However, it appears that Speakman has now added a possible striker signing to his wishlist while still lacking a

manager.

Macaulay Langstaff and Sunderland are connected in Notts County

Macaulay Langstaff, a striker for Notts County who scored 29 goals in all competitions last season,

is said to have “admirers” in the Championship by journalist Darren Witcoop.

Swansea City is listed as one of the teams “watching developments” this summer by Witcoop,

who also mentions Sunderland in the report.

The 27-year-old Langstaff has previously been connected to Sunderland. In January,

he was strongly connected to leaving Notts County, but according to Witcoop,

Championship clubs weren’t sure if he could handle moving up from League Two.

Despite Notts County’s 14th-place League Two finish previous season,

Langstaff‘s 28 league goals and five assists earned him the Golden Boot trophy.
